Members are being reminded to use this year’s Demand, Capacity and Welfare Survey to voice their personal experiences of policing the pandemic.
The survey, conducted by the Police Federation of England and Wales, will close on 16 November.
Gwent Police Federation chair Steve Thorpe says it is an opportunity not to be missed: “This is the first survey of this kind since the start of the pandemic and it’s vital we start to build a picture of just how it has impacted our members.
“The more feedback we receive, the stronger our voice will be when we’re talking to key decision-makers within the Force but also within Government. It will all make a difference during what is one of the most important times in the history of policing - please make your voice heard.”
The 2020 survey is the third survey of its kind and is designed to give an accurate assessment of the challenges facing policing. It will examine questions around the pandemic as well as the plan to recruit an extra 20,000 officers by 2023.
