The free factsheet explains why working shifts can be harmful to sleep and provides tips on what members can do to put themselves in a position for a good quality sleep when a run of shifts has finished.
The guide also has a general focus on sleep, and looks at the benefits it brings and advice on getting a good night’s sleep.
It also signposts members to other organisations, such as the NHS and the Sleep Apnoea Trust, which can provide more information on sleep issues.
The guide has been produced by Police Mutual, which provides financial services and welfare support to the police service, and is available to download.
