This year’s Police Care UK Blue Light Get Active Challenge will be the largest event of its kind.
The police charity, in combination with The Firefighters Charity, The Ambulance Staff Charity and The Children’s Air Ambulance, has launched the 2021 event which will run from Monday (18 January) to 14 February.
Gwent Police Federation chair Steve Thorpe: “This challenge seems a great way to get motivated to move a bit more while also helping support the work of Police Care UK, a charity that aims to really make a difference to serving and retired officers and their families.
“I would urge members to sign up and take part.”
Participants can join the month-long event at any time before 13 February and they are invited to walk, run, cycle, join an online class or simply dance around their kitchen to support their chosen charity.
Mindfulness has also been added to this year’s event and ‘acts of kindness’ will gain participants bonus points.
Upgraded App technology means people taking part can see their progress and position on the leader board.
Police Care UK will award the funds raised to help the charities address unprecedented increase in demand, exacerbated by the pandemic.
