Gwent Police Federation chair Steve Thorpe has paid tribute to PC Terence (Terry) Davies on the 31st anniversary of his death.
Terry (34) died on 23 August 1990 when he was hit by a stolen car which failed to stop. He was cycling home after a tour of duty at Maindee.
Steve said: “Terry was an outstanding officer who was hugely liked and respected by officers and the public alike.
“Police officers go to work each day to fight crime, and to serve and protect the public. Sadly, he made the ultimate sacrifice and it’s important to ensure that we continue to honour his memory to ensure he’ll never be forgotten.
“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues on this difficult day.”
